Brother-in-law of AAP MLA among 3 arrested in cash-for-ticket case ahead of MCD poll

By Arvind Ojha, Pankaj Jain DelhiAnti-Corruption Bureau( ACB) has arrested three people, including the family- in- law of an Aam Aadmi Party( AAP) MLA, in a cash- for- ticket case ahead of the December 4 Municipal Corporation of Delhi( MCD) bean.

The ACB officers have arrested AAP MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi’s adjunct Vishal Pandey, family- in- law Om Singh and another person, Prince Raghuvanshi.Officers said AAP worker Shobha Khari from ward number 69 sought a ticket from the party.

They said MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi had demanded Rs 90 lakh in exchange for getting her the ticket.The plaintiff said that he paid Rs 35 to Akhilesh Pati Tripathi and Rs 20 lakh to Wazirpur MLA Rajesh Gupta as a fix. He said the remaining Rs 35 lakh was to be given after the name appeared on the list.The plaintiff said that when the name didn’t appear on the list, he approached MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi’s family- in- law, Om Singh, to get the plutocrat back.

The plaintiff latterly filed a complaint with the ACB and also handed the recorded videotape of the exchange of plutocrat as substantiation.

After entering the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and on Tuesday arrested the triad who reached the plaintiff’s house with the fix plutocrat in the presence of an independent substantiation.

The ACB seized the recovered quantum and arrested all three.The ACB will soon interrogate both MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi and Wazirpur MLA Rajesh Gupta in the case.

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi has understood that it’s going to lose in the MCD choices and the Aam Aadmi Party is going to win with a thumping maturity. So, it’s egregious that the demand for an Aam Aadmi Party ticket was also veritably high, ” Delhi Deputy CM and AAP leader, Manish Sisodia said.

It’s a matter of pride that indeed if someone is giving or taking plutocrat nearly, tickets aren’t vended at this party, ” he said.There should be a fair inquiry by ACB. Strictest action should be taken for misusing the Aam Aadmi Party’s name, ” he said.
